Here’s looking at you he says…
The two handsome fellas in the next pic are a big reason why I am currently crushing on Lincoln City, Oregon.
By the time we got to this enticing beach and windswept view, I was already in a deep state of joy and relaxation. Starting off your day at the Spa at Salishan is for sure a recipe for success. We are back at home now, doing chores and working hard. It was a great day though! Do you want to take a tour with me, just for old time’s sake?
The opportunity to just be still at the ocean is such a gift, and worth getting up for. Like many good spas, the Spa at Salishan invites you to arrive early and enjoy the amenities and soaking pools before your treatment. I took a long, deep sea breath on the walkway and settled right in…
Ever notice how the staff at a spa all seem so calm, relaxed and happy? Where in the world do they go to get this training? As they were giving me an introduction to the facility, I was thinking to myself please sign me up for spa class. I promise to be your best student.
Comfy robe and spa slippers – check. Lockers – check. Goregeous showers and pamperings – check! Even as the tide was out, I’m looking down in to THIS pool, at THIS view, and life seems pretty good.
As you make your way through towards the room where you will be picked up by your spa attendant, you can pause to take a rest or make time for the sauna/steam rooms and the outdoor pool.
Eventually, you end up at a refreshment bar and the fireplace room. Be sure and make time to return here after your treatment!
A few people were reading in the fireplace room I noticed, but believe it or not, I was energized after my lovely trip to the Spa at Salishan. Grateful for the gift and ready to hit the town with the Boys!
First stop, the beach in the Historic Taft District. Check out these pretty baskets. You’ve got to hand it to Oregon, we know how to do flowers.
Next stop the Lincoln City Farmer’s Market. It’s not a huge venue, but we were sure impressed with the quality and variety. Beautiful art and a nice assortment of food booths. We couldn’t leave home without the clay clamshell jewelry holder and the starfish phone stand. Can you blame us?
Of course they had the famous Oregon Coast Glass Floats that get hidden on the beach every year. It was morning, so our timing was off this time to see them in the making, but there were plenty of studios opening up to show the floats as they were being blown.
Time to start our trek home to Eugene. We stopped for BBQ at Scooter’s Smokehouse, and it was finger lickin yum.
I won’t lie, it was a very relaxing weekend and hard to turn our back on the beach to head inland. I am definitely a fan of “ending on a high note” though, so I was still smiling on the way home. Lots of stellar Oregon summer/fall weather queued up for anyone who wants to plan a trip to Lincoln City.
I say… let’s all find a wave and ride it!
