Do you ever have moments where your younger self spoofs you in to thinking you are half your age, and pretty soon you are strapped in to a bumper car or barreling down a snowy mountain? In my experience, this type of adventure either leads to magic or muscle relaxants, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from this weekend…
Good thing we’ve been working on channeling our inner luck this month, because it turned out to be one of the COOLEST THINGS WE HAVE EVER DONE. Which makes me wonder if a bucket list item has to be on the list first to count, or if an awesome experience can be added and checked off later. I’m not sure what the rules are for bucket lists. In any case, want to take a ride up the hill with me?
The video cuts out at the top because just after that there is a small, lighted sign that says “roll off here” and for me, attempting to roll gracefully off the inner tube was the most challenging part of the Cosmic Tubing experience, but it was well worth it!
Here is a look at the way down…
We were fortunate to have a clear night that was fairly warm. The hill we were tubing on received a kiss of snowfall just a couple of days before, so the trails were powder perfect and not icy.
After a few moonlit trips down the hill, we hung out at the campfire. Each ticket purchased came with marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers ready to build s’mores, along with a packet of hot cocoa. It was awesome.
After hitting the slopes, we headed back to the cabin to warm up by the crackling fire and then woke up to another day of beautiful fun.
We put the snowball maker to good use…
Cosmic Tubing turned out to be a welcome surprise for us, and no ibruprophen was required. We origninally saw the idea on Groupon, but hesitated and missed the window to purchase the discounted tickets. Having a great experience like this though, makes me want to step out of my comfort zone more, browse Groupon, and take advantage of other adventures that might await.
On the drive up, we stopped at a snack shack for drinks where this cute guy was hanging out. Maybe chubby bears are a good omen. I’m going to keep my eye out for more of them.
