All be darn, the Groundhog got it right. The sun is shining, temperatures are on the rise, and my husband is camped out at the field. Spring is here! Which means its time for the rest of us to start thinking about how we will get the field ready, and get ready for the field.
Whether you are raising a player, know a player, or are a fan of the game, the spring training bats are already cracking, and you don’t want to be caught spending too much time in the off season. In the last post I ended with shopping, so today, let’s just go ahead and get that part out of the way first, what do you say?
Number one, I think we all need a new baseball shirt, and a cute cap.
- Youth baseball shirt available from Coaches Athletic (call or e-mail to order)
- Image and Women’s baseball tee from Spool No.72 (Fair warning ladies, they have jewelry too, and it’s possible you could get lost here)
- Men’s baseball tee from Coaches Athletic (call or e-mail to order)
New cap styles from Lids found here.
I know that the new baseball tee and a fresh cap are going to help me in fulfilling my important role on the field as a Baseball/Softball mom, and that is to provide an endless amount of Oxy-clean socks, ice packs, and snacks during the game, all while keeping my mouth shut. At the very least, I only need to know these six words college athletes say they most want to hear.
Before we hit the ballpark though, some of us may need to take care of the “other field.” As the spring songs start to stream across the airwaves, I think it’s important to note that if you hear Sting’s “Fields of Gold” and it makes you think about your legs, you’ve likely stretched your shaving out a couple days (weeks?) too long, and you could be faced with a clear cut situation before you can safely show up anywhere in shorts. 🙂

After 40 years of chips and cuts, I have finally found a tool that gives me a clean shave without suffering. If you haven’t tried it yet, the Schick Intuition razor gets rave reviews online and literally feels like brushing a marshmallow across your legs. I’m looking forward to trying the new citrus scent, which is supposed to smell like the Caribbean. On a Wednesday workday, that sounds pretty great.
Speaking of marshmallows. I’m probably adding these guys to my bucket list. Sorry, I am easily distracted!

After taking care of the new baseball tee, cap and a clean shave, the last thing I need to do is brush up on the rules of the game, in case for some reason, I am not as successful at keeping my mouth shut as I had hoped – just sayin, it could happen.
Tis the season! Take us out to the ball park…
P.S. If you know someone who needs more wind in their sails, please share Windlasse.com with your friends! As my husband says, he doesn’t need to be the only one who gets to (has to?) listen to what’s in my head. 🙂 Free updates by e-mail delivered EOD (every other day). You can unsubscribe at any time.
