“You complete me.” This famous line from the 1996 sports film Jerry Maguire has received some backlash of late, from folks that think you shouldn’t put your happiness on someone else’s plate. While I agree that much of our daily strength comes from within, I also know that I was born with only a handful of the skills needed to make my way through this world. Honestly, I need all the help I can get, and I am very thankful to the people I have in my life that keep me from walking down the street looking like a slice of Swiss cheese.
All of the people that keep me upright are on my honor roll, and I expect they will each be weaved in to the writing for this blog, as I go. Today, I want to give a shout out specifically to Heloise – aka Sherry, for her big heart and her helping hand.

Allow me to sidetrack for a second… this is not the largest, but one of our absolute favorite local wineries. Think small, but up and coming fast. Beautiful and cozy tasting room overlooking the Willamette Valley. Delicious small food accompaniments. $5 wine flights – red and white. Outside fireplace. Dogs and families welcome. A great story to their start, and most importantly absolutely amazing wines!
If you are drooling over these petite Kahlua Mousses, Teri made them, and I might be able to snag the recipe to include in another blog post.
On the way home, the conversation turned back to how we were all going to spend the rest of the weekend, which included exciting events like housework. I was sitting in the middle of the backseat and overheard Lindy thanking Sherry for the $1.99 life-changing bottle of cleaner that completely transformed her bathroom. Hold the phone…I think I need that too. I started asking more questions, and low and behold, the household tips for refreshing just about anything came pouring from Sherry like a new bottle of Chardonnay. Which prompted her to respond to everyone in the car, “There’s a lot more where that came from, what else do you want to know? I’m Heloise, you all just haven’t noticed.” Well, how do you like them apples?
The cleaner is called Bar Keepers Friend. It completely transformed my sink today. Apparently, this product is so incredible that it has its own family of followers, including a lady who detailed her great love for Bar Keepers Friend here. The problem with her post, is that she talked about using Bar Keepers Friend to clean her chucks, which inspired me to check out the new spring line at Converse for woman and kids. Why, oh why, do all roads lead to shopping?!
You better believe after discovering the many uses for Bar Keepers Friend, that we will all be paying a lot more attention to Sherry’s tips. She is a master in decorating and restoring antiques too, so in my opinion, she already had great street cred. That said, my favorite part of Sherry is her big, Virgo heart. The one she said she passed on to my son when he was born, and the one she uses to spread love to everyone lucky enough to find themselves in her circle.
Ready, set, clean those chucks!
