What happens when a handyman and a merrymaker meet and fall in love? The most inspired Honeydo list you could ever dream of. Case in point… this beautiful holiday sign from the genius team at Martha Stewart. How-to found here.

In in my opinion, Martha projects are a lot like having babies.
They are without a doubt worth every bit of the effort, and at the same time are sometimes so painful that you might be tempted to wait years before attempting to bring to life another one. For most people, it’s enough focused creative energy to expend just by paying attention long enough to step through all the instructions as shown, and then spending the next few months patting oneself on the back for your great achievement. However, there are people in this world that have twins and there are people who aren’t satisfied with average decorating. Let’s honor and enjoy their strength and creativity!
My parents put their heads together and really raised the bar on this project. The goal is to light up the seasons, and they are off to a great start with Joy, an Anchor, Splash and Breezy! Coming soon is Acorn.
This picture doesn’t do it justice, but as you can see they set their sign within a very nice wood frame, with a classy handle, ribbon accent and a tiny bird. Pretty clever!
Check out how they incorporated their own font in this Splash sign.
It may come as no surprise to you that one of their favorite TV shows is HGTV’s Fixer Upper with Chip and Joanna Gaines, another handyman meets merrymaker designer match made in heaven. Click here to watch some pretty hilarious outtakes from this fun show and be totally home-inspired.
My folks dream of having their own home improvement show together and branding it Screwed. What do you think, are they ready for primetime? 🙂
Some of us have the handy and some have the merry, but not everyone has the combination. There are still plenty of ways for the rest of us to put the “improve” in home improvement, and to be inspired by a single word and light. I did a search for “Word signs” on Etsy’s site, and was presented with hundreds of one-word art finds that would look great in my home or office. I also found a plethora of really cool lighted signs here too.
I heard that a great way to pick out a single word to live by is to think about what you would tattoo. I am definitely too chicken to ever get a real tattoo, and want to be able to adjust my word inspiration with the seasons, but I am intrigued by the idea of spending more time thinking about it! Especially after catching this read on how One Word Can Change Your Life.
What word do you want to see in lights? What would you tattoo?
